Cloud

Clouds are made up of tiny raindrops in the air, which can be seen but not touched. I created a small world full of possibilities where clouds can be touched, and even shadows can be captured under the light. The inspiration for this installation comes from the fragments of life, such as the beauty of a journey. I am committed to providing the viewer with a utopia free from complex emotions and negative feelings. The floating feeling is like getting drunk, taking a bath, or even being relieved when weightless.

The process of making art is essential to me. I often start with a painting or a sculpture to conceive the next steps. In this installation, the painting is the first step, followed by the sculpture. The different sizes of the canvas are organically connected by the skyline and the outline of the clouds. A harmonious dialogue is created between the paintings themselves. At the same time, the hanging cloud sculpture echoes the shapes in the paintings. The installation as a whole is made of recycled plastic. I enjoy the contrast of using manufactured materials for natural effects.

The installation consists of two parts representing night and day, respectively. The darkroom part is relatively empty and does not have any other light source except the cloud sculpture. When people are in it, the mood will change with the light. These two parts are sparse and dense in space, but even the temperature is one cold and one warm. I enjoy the very different experience they bring.
